So Long, And Thanks
I was hoping I wouldn't have to write this one, but the past month has made it clear to me that I do.
Primary School is closing down, effective immediately; I no longer have the time to manage it due to the increasing demands of my personal and professional lives. I have already sent refunds through Stripe, Ghost's payment processor, for all payments received in the month of October, whether monthly or yearly, and I have turned off future payments. If you want a refund for earlier payments--I get it, times are tough--just email me at nickrtagliaferro@gmail.com with "Refund" in the subject line and your subscriber information, and I'll process it no questions asked. (This may take some time as I figure out Stripe's backend, and if you'd prefer Venmo that would likely be faster; just provide a Venmo in your refund email.)
Writing for an audience of earnest election nerds has been an incredible privilege these past six years. (Holy shit, six years!) I started this journey as a dumb college kid and end it as a twentysomething attorney; thanks in no small part to my incredible readers, as well as my former co-author, I have gotten vastly better at analyzing elections, understanding the dynamics of state and local politics in far-flung places, and distilling all of that into readable copy over that time. Primary School is an experience I will always treasure, and from it I gained skills and knowledge I will carry forever—so for that, and for everything else, I must thank you, the reader. I'm heartbroken to be bringing it to a close, and I worry that nobody will fully pick up the slack I leave behind, but at a certain point I have to be realistic, and the reality is I can't keep doing this. (If you're interested in carrying on the work somehow, email me at the address above; I'd at least be happy to talk, and if you're serious I'll probably offer to help as my capacity allows.)
