Penn Station Broke the Council Preview

I had every intention of finishing the NYC Council preview last night and sending it out right about now. I even had a few races already written up. Then I got to Penn Station, and NJTransit completely broke down. In classic NJT fashion, there was no communication to myself or other riders as we raced from platform to sweltering platform hoping to squeeze on to a standing-room-only train; trains were canceled and then uncanceled haphazardly, delayed and then suddenly departed, boarding and then gone before anyone had time to run from the departure hall to the platform. All this in a crowded station that had to be at least 90 degrees, and I was running around in work clothes (and without water; that's my fault), so by the time I finally slumped into a seat on a New Jersey-bound train—more than an hour after arriving at Penn—I realized I had given myself a good case of heat exhaustion. I was dizzy, achy, and fatigued, with a pounding headache that would linger until the early hours of the morning. Even if I pulled an all-nighter, the chances of me writing something with my usual level of detail were next to none. I'm very sorry, and I will still be writing some sort of granular retrospective—which will not be paywalled, because I owe you all something after this fuckup.
